Two months ago, I just had Achilles surgery and was okayed to walk in the pool. I do this and use your Contour Swim Paddles to build the upper body. Each day I walk forwards, backwards, sideways, and more recently jumping from side to side, kicking and in turning motions, while I do a vigorous upper body work out, with the paddles. I tried some SCUBA booties and they wore through with the roughness of the pool bottom, so I bought your shoes. The first time I used them, the pull-on loop at the back of the right shoe broke, which left it dangling. The other one held. Several times the quick lace hook at near the toe has come loose, while trying to tighten the shoes. The back of the boot needs a rolled cuff, because when they are tightened enough to hold, the rigid thin cuff digs into the back of the hell. Having just gone through Achilles surgery that is not a good place for pain.
They do allow the feet to move easily in the water and drain, while exercising and after getting out of the pool. It takes many hours to actually have them dry out and this is in a garage in Tucson, AZ, with good heat and no humidity.
The light weight is a positive.
While I am at it, the Contour Swim Paddles have an elastic band. As I researched these and others from competitors on the Internet, several people suggested getting paddles that were just barely bigger than my hand. This was to prevent shoulder injury. I bought your mediums from a local triathlon store and they fit perfect. However those above mentioned rubber bands are too short. Even when putting only three fingers into the loops, they cut off circulation. This is tough during a daily one hour workout. I wrote to Speedo over a month ago asking how I could get longer bands. I have yet to hear a response.
I cannot answer your bottom line, as there would be qualifiers.

Comments about Men's Speedo® Hydro Trainer Water Shoe:
I teach water aerobics 4 hours a week, I have been teaching for 7 years now and these are the best water shoes that I have purchased so far. The fit is true to size and the shoe drains well. I am hopeful that they will hold up in the chlorinated water, the water shoes that I have purchased in the past fall apart after 3 months.

This pair of shoes is so much better then the slip ons. The inner sole is thicker and keeps it's shape during the workout. Following the instructions I always rinse them out and hang to dry.

I am a USA and high school swimming official, so I spend a lot of time and miles on swim pool decks, both indoor and outdoor pools. I had tried many different styles of walking shoes, until I found Speedos' shoe, this was my 3rd season walking over 50 sessions a year...can't wait to see how long they last!!! Great shoe!!!

These are my first pair of aquatic shoes. Really like using them. Sometimes they can be a little splippery but I guess that is common to all aquatic shoes. Like that they don't feel very heavy when you come out of the water. Don't like the hook to keep the shoelace in place, comes off all the time. I would recommend these to my aquatic fitness classes students.

Aerobics (pool) instructor. Two pair on alternate days. Drains water very well. Very slippery when on-deck at poolside. They hold up better than other brands but turn yellow from chlorine.

Comments about Men's Speedo® Hydro Trainer Water Shoe:
I have purchased other Speedo water shoe styles and as with these have found that the sizes from style to style are not the same. This makes it difficult to purchase online and increases the cost because most have to be returned to exchange for another size. Speedo needs to standardize sizes or pay for returns!

Comments about Men's Speedo® Hydro Trainer Water Shoe:
Loved the shoes at first. I teach aqua aerobics classes and thought these would be a great solution. After about 3 months, the fabric on the sides began to peel off and then the glue disolved and the soles of both shoes came off. The soles look brand new and gave me a lot of support while demonstrating poolside. They made and easy transition in and out of the pool. However, I did not find that they dried quickly after I rinsed the chlorine out of them.

These shoes need work, I've used them along with all of the lifeguards at my water park now for seven months, they fall apart after a few months of use in the water. The shoes take 2 days to dry. If worn it water without socks blistering and ankle damage occur. Would not recommend.

My husband regularly attends aqua aerobics classes. And, we are frequently on the look out for reasonably priced shoes with great fit and comfort, toggle closure, and fast drainage and drying. This one fits the bill. My husband loves them...says they are the best aqua shoes he has ever owned.

Comments about Men's Speedo® Hydro Trainer Water Shoe:
These are the best men's water aerbics shoes available. They fit well, offer good support, allow the water to drain well and have good traction for slippery pool floors. Hope to have these for many years, the previous lasted about 3 years and these are by far superior.

Comments about Men's Speedo® Hydro Trainer Water Shoe:
I was looking for a great water aerobics shoe that could be worn in the water but also provide enough support/cushioning that I could wear it on deck to teach. I have long feet, so I wear a men's size. I had to stretch out the "bunion" part of the shoe before I could wear it, but it worked. The label said that it would be slippery on deck, and it is. It is borderline dangerous in the shower room. Besides being slippery, it is not as supportive as an athletic shoe. It does just fine in the pool, however, and I have worn it twice now and enjoyed it in the water.
