I liked the weight, the advantages of not rotating, but after just one dive the filter just popped of. And they are very difficult to find.

Comments about SPEEDO Hydralign Center Snorkel:

I am a life long single-side breather. This snorkel was positioned as a stepping stone to transition to dual-side breathing, so it was purchased for that purpose even though the price tag seemed rather steep.

It takes some getting used to. The complaints in other reviews about water going up the nose are valid. I have to breathe in from the snorkel and out through my nose as a counter, which alters my normal breathing pattern (that can be a good thing, actually). Flip-turns are equally challenging as often the snorkel can't be cleared in a single blast; that led to more open turns than I would like.

Having said that, the snorkel definitely forces me to balance my stroke. After 200 yards of swimming I could feel select parts of muscles get a little fatigued that would normally take much longer. Another surprising consequence was how it made me think about my kicking in a way that a kick-board does not. I can really feel the difference when I take off the snorkel and swim regularly. Who knew?

Bottom line: Use this as a training aid in parts of your workout just like you would paddles, a pull-buoy, or a kick board and you should be happy with the results. However, if you are looking for a device to wear full time during swimming, you may disappointed.

Comments about SPEEDO Hydralign Center Snorkel:

Looks goofy and water tends to go up my nose. Get short of breath using the snorkel. More so than without. Afraid of snorkel going underwater. Does allow for more arm extension, though. Would not recommend.

Makes spotting yourself so easy while swimming and exercising in a swim spa. I have also used it in mountain streams prospecting for gold with a underwater detector.

First time using a snorkel and it worked great. I could focus on getting a good workout w/o getting a sore neck from the repetition of turning to breath. It sure would be great if a nose clip was included.

Comments about SPEEDO Hydralign Center Snorkel:

It works great! It allows me to concentrate on my strokes instead of having to work around my breath. The downside is, my heart doesn't have to work as hard cause breathing comes so easy but my arms and legs get a good workout. I thought it would be cumbersome with the head strap and the goggles but it all works fine. Love it!

Comments about SPEEDO Hydralign Center Snorkel:

I swim nearly every day and have used other swimming snorkels from other brands. I needed a new one so decided to give the Speedo snorkel a try. Boy was I mistaken.

Yes it functions, but I miss the simplicity of my other snorkels. This Speedo snorkel is big, bulky and over-designed.

I think the concept behind the elaborate head bracket is to make it more comfortable, but it makes the whole process clunky. I don't understand why you would need to unfasten the tube and the headbracket separately once I have it on my head. I'm not going to always swim with the headbracket on and then slap on the snorkel tube whenever I need...that's just odd.

I also found the snorkel big and heavy on my head while swimming. It made it more difficult for turns and push-offs.

I LOVE training with a snorkel, but just not this one.
