Comments about SPEEDO Shirred Vibrant Skin Princess Seam Plus Size:

I am a lap swimmer - have been swimming 40+ years. I am not trying to race or compete - just stay in shape. I swim about 6 days a week - 20 - 45 minutes. I would be doing 90 minute workouts if my work schedule wasn't so hectic. I have been buying the axel back suits for years! This is the best suit for swimming comfort. The straps stay up, there is no pressure on your neck, and you can freely rotate your arms. I also like the nylon/lycra blended suits over the polyester suits. The lycra will fade and wear out over time and it wears out faster then the other suit - but you just can't beat the softness, comfort, and flattering fit that lycra gives the suit. The polyester suits are just too tight and uncomfortable. I always buy two suits so I can alternate the suits every day. I swim in one while the other is drying. I also soak my suit after every swim in a bowl of water treated with drops that are meant to remove chlorine from fish aquariums - my suits come out with no chlorine smell. This extends the life of my suit and slows down the fading.

I love the flattering camouflage of this print. Speedo tends to do this suit in a print every couple of years and I just love the prints. Then for reasons I just can't understand Speedo dumps the prints for a while and gives us the ugly solid colors!!! All the smaller suits for younger swimmers are still coming out in dazzling prints but if you are a middle aged women you have to pick some solid color and feel like a giant blue berry or raspberry in the pool. Or you can just be the pool widow in all black. Come on Speedo - I am spending $60 - $80 for these suits - would it be so hard to give me a nice color print option? You already have a suit in production - Splatter Splash Super Pro - PowerFLEX - you just need to offer it in a grown up women's size.

I would give this suit 4.5 stars if I could. It is pretty near perfect - there is just one flaw that needs to be fixed. The bra padding is just a loose foam pad in a sealed fabric pouch. It works just fine when the suit is new. But as the suit ages and stretches the padding starts to wander around. Now the padding is loose enough that it folds in half or rolls up. So I end up wasting time in the locker room trying to find the edge of the padding through the fabric and rolling it with my fingers until it is positioned flat again. Otherwise I have wet bulky pads dragging while I try to swim. The solution would be to stitch the pads in place so they don't float around. Other than that, the suit is purrrrrrfect.

Comments about SPEEDO Shirred Vibrant Skin Princess Seam Plus Size:

I don't know why Plus Size swim attire needs extra padding in the bra cups, I mean, you would think that would be an added redundancy of redundancy in the breast department. I haven't figured out the "lingo" of the Speedo site yet to avoid this mind boggling addition... Sad to say, even though the material is the only pattern given to plus size swim suit shoppers, it is a style of suit that won't be useful to me, either. Disappointed that I got a deal and now I have to return it. I guess I'll wait until next Cyber Monday to purchase something else. Blah.
