My daughter is a high level age group swimmer and has been wearing Speeod Vanquisher (Dark Smoke Lense w/ Mirror Tint) for several years. Sometimes she wore her contact lenses under her goggles or just dealt with the blurred vision. She tried the Optic Vanquisher goggles with the smoke lense and loved them... same goggles as before but she could see. Just need mirror coat for outdoor events. It's Short Course/Winter season so most of the events will be indoors not sure how these goggle will be for 100 or 200 Meter Backstroke in the Southern California sun. Speedo... Offer these with a smoke lense and mirror tinit and sales will go up, esxpecially where most of the swimming is outdoors.

I got my first pair of optical goggles several years ago but I didn't actually start using them until last year. The correction on my old AND new pair is excellent -- I recommend them without reservation to any nearsighted swimmers who don't want to hassle with contact lenses. My current pair started fogging up and getting scratched so I ordered a new pair and they are not nearly so nicely made. The strap is much flimsier and harder to adjust, and the nosepiece is thinner and lighter-weight and is not as substantial as the old pair. I think the goggle part is actually smaller from front to back as are the eye seals. It just seems like sometime since I purchased the first pair there have been cut-backs done to the model, probably to avoid raising the price. They ARE a good deal price-wise but overall I'm disappointed in the quality of the new model
My wife uses the goggle for her aqua aerobic class. Her testimony convinced me to purchase a pair. She purchased a shaded pair for the outdoors (second to her clear pair)along with this, my first pair. She says that they are wonderful. They allow her to actually see everything that's happening without the worry of her much needed glasses from fall off, losing or being damaged. Can't wait for the beach this year!
This is the first prescription goggle I have worn and it is amazing to see in/out of the pool with clarity. Even though I have astigmatism, the simple correction available in these goggles is so exciting. The extra nose pieces that come with the goggles allow me to adjust for a perfect fit. I can't wait for my next workout!

It is amazing--how clear I can see everything now. I love my new Vanquisher Optical Googles. Great fit--UV protection. I should have done this years agos. Good price!
I'm thrilled that even with my poor vision I can finally see my competition in the water! Not bumping blindly into the bouy's nice, too... All this, plus a nicely adjustable fit, good suction, and solid design for a VERY good price.
For less than $20 it's undoubtedly reasonably priced for short-sightedness correction. It does not come with a carrying case (the packaging does not serve as a good carrying case - it will not last) so I'm using the one from my previous goggle (somehow I only lost the goggle). Do not hope for too much regarding the anti-fog ability - it is sure to happen, at least for the few goggles that I owned. I use it occasionally so this one definitely suffices. It comes with 4 sizes of nose piece so fitting it to your face shouldn't be a problem.
I have searched for two years for a pair of swim goggles that would stay put, accommodate my refraction and not feel too bulky; for a lot less money than I spent on prescription goggles that would nearly fall off in the water, these speedo goggles with the appropriate diopter adjustment work great! Problem solved!
I love love love these goggles. I've bought these for each member of my family. Everybody knows their correction. I use a defog solution every time out. and redo after about an hour. The goggles show some crazing after 3-4 years, so that is why I'm back buying myself a new pair. I agree with the straps being too short. I have a 7 and 3/8 hat size (fat head, huh?) and these are tight, plus, the nose bridge could be improved, too, so as not to cut in on the skin. You can buy two pairs and mix and match if say one eye is -2.0 and the other is -4.0 diopters.
Bottom Line--Thank you Speedo for taking the risk and buying all of these extra production molds to support everyone's prescription and supporting all of swimming, in general.
I have very poor vision and wear a -8.00 contact. But I don't like to wear my contacts all the time. Now I am so happy to be able to see when I am doing my workout in the pool. The goggles work and fit great.
Fit is great around the eyes and prescription lens is great. BUT, the straps are too tight, even let out all the way. And the sides of the lenses reflect the opposite side of the lane, so I get confused if someone is there or not.
AND the instructions say to keep the goggles in their case, but the case is a cheap piece of plastic, not made to use over and over again.
AND the illustrations on the instructions don't match the instructions.
As someone who has struggled with not being able to see in the pool, due to extremely poor vision, these goggles are a lifesaver. They fit great with immediate snug fit and no leakage. They do not fully correct my vision, but allow me to comfortable do laps in a busy pool. Now I can swim comfortably and truly enjoy what swimming can offer.
Looks good & is comfortable. Storage is an ergonomic "step back" - it's a very fiddly plastic case - worse than last one - & is useless at water's edge ! You used to have a plastic zip-lock bag - so I use my old one of these. My biggest concern is complete falsehood of "anti-fog" claim: I take great care to rinse in cold water after each use & never, ever, touch inside of lens but there's still no anti-fog, which is very frustrating !
never knew it would be this great with optical goggles.. amazing how my daughter can see ...wearing glasses and a swimmer --do not match.. This makes it match!! thank you Speedo !
I am so impressed with this purchase! These are the first goggles I've owned that fit to my face properly, don't leak, or fog up. Added bonus: after I've finished a swim I can go out in public with a very minimal or non existing goggle imprint (depending on length of swim).
I am a high school competive swimmer. i wear glasses and i hated not being able to see in during swimming. i got these goggles because i thought they were going to help me see. THEY DID SOOO MUCH MORE. i put them on and instantly i could see, and not just see but see better then even with my glasses. Then i went under water and the pool was instantly brighter then ever. it added a totally new effect to my swimming. All i did was choose a size that was around the same of all my numbers on my perscription and they are perfect. COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR ANYTHING BETTER!
Used these goggle for year as a professional triathlete and open water navigation is awesome with them. Only thing is need mirror pair and they would be perfect
