I have tarsal tunnel in my ankles and need support even in the pool. I have arthritis just about everywhere. My podiatrist told me to get water sneakers - not shoes - but these trainers fit her definition of sneakers.
I bought this water shoe in size 8 after I saw reviews here saying it runs wide. Can't find anyone selling wide water sneakers. My feet measure average width, but don't fit average-width shoes. Then I add orthotics to the mix. I wear size 8 Wide street shoes w/ full orthotics. So, like I said, I tried these shoes in Size 8.
They feel ok on, but they appeared to have no arch support. I took them to my podiatrist who said the arch support was usual for this type of shoe and that they fit me well. She said I didn't need to wear orthotics in them.
The only drawback is that the shoes have poor traction in water. I slip often while walking in waist- and chest-deep water. My knee doc wants me to power-walk in the water. Power-walking is impossible in these shoes. They force me to take tiny steps to protect my ankles, knees and back (which gets wrenched when I suddenly slip). So I'm not getting the muscle development that I need with these shoes.
I'd recommend this shoe for wide feet (or average feet that like extra width) and for those who take short, slow steps when water-walking. Me, I'll keep looking for a wide water sneaker with good traction.

I was anxious to receive my first pair because I was starting another shallow water exercise class. Unfortunately, the pair that arrived was defective, but wearable. I called customer service and they were very accommodating. I did not miss any classes without the shoes. I had tried at least 4 other brands but the fit, quality and comfort did not match Speedo's.

Comments about Women's Speedo® Hydro Trainer Water Shoe:
This is my first pair of Speedo Hydro Trainer Water shoes and I am pleased so far with the quality, design, comfort, and customer service of Speedo. For ten years I used another national brand of water shoe, but their redesign created a poor quality shoe that did not support the sides of my foot. I train hard so I need a shoe that is supportive and protective both on deck and in water. I have worn these shoes only two weeks, but I have no complaints so far. In addition, when I told Speedo I did not receive my $10 refer a friend rebate, I recieved an email right away with a refund to my credit card. Because of the quality of this product and the customer service, I recommend this shoe to my students.

I have had some serious issues with pain in my feet due to structural problems. This improved considerably with the use of these wonderful water shoes that absorb impact when I wear them in my water aerobics class! I am so grateful!

I use these shoes for traction in the pool when we do shallow water exercise, and to protect the soles of my feet. They don't get in the way when we are using swim strokes in the deep water. My only concern is that the laces will wear out before the shoes do!

Bought to replace 3 yr. old Speedo shoes I bought in a local swimshop. Easy to put on so as not to squeeze foot in tender places. I have to buy in a larger size, but shoe still stays on well after cord adjustment.

I do water aerobics 3 times a week and after 5 months the vinyl-like covering on the shoe was coming off. Others in my class have had similar shoes in other brands that have been worn for a 1-1/2 yr. and still look new. I picked the shoe out online and gave info to daughter-in-law to order for Christmas gift. I think she may have done a better job on her own!!

Feels very light and comfortable in water aerobics! The one negative is when putting shoe on, it has a hook for the shoelace loop to attach to. It was a little awkward and difficult to connect it for me -- a senior citizen.

Comments about Women's Speedo® Hydro Trainer Water Shoe:
These shoes felt really snug when I tried them on OUTSIDE THE WATER, and I considered returning them. But when I got into the water, they felt just right and provided good traction. I went up a half size which is what I do with running shoes, and they've been a perfect fit. Afterall, you don't want your shoes slipping off while you're jumping around in the water. Highly recommend.

This is my favorite pair of water aerobics shoes. I love the adjustable elastic slide in front, and they are very easy to get in & out of (compared to some other brands I have had). Has the support of a sneaker with great ventilation. They have improved since my first pair; now has a loop on the heel to pull them up. Only problem was a rough spot on one heel, but after a few classes, it softened up and is fine now.
